The key to proper resource management is planning.  Virginia Forest Service offers a variety of management plan options to make sure your goals and objectives are met.  Plans are designed to aid in forest stand management, land use planning, tax preparation, and estate planning.  Plans may also be established for special certification and recognition such as the American Tree Farm System, Forest Stewardship Program, and the Forest Stewardship Council.  Conservation Easements are another tool that can be used to meet a landowners objectives.
